PostSubject: Stabling?   Sun Nov 05, 2006 10:29 am

Does anyone else have a problem with their horses coughing this time of year?
Our vet has said that its because this time of year we stable the horses during the night and their just getting used to it agen, due to them being out all summer. So to help we can soak their hay and instead of using straw for bedding we can use shavings to help reduce the amount of dust.

Thats the only advice i could have given you too!

Alot of horses suffer from a cough because of all the dust in hay and straw, sometimes its only mild and will dissappear in a few weeks but if its severe then definatley soak the hay and use shavings!
