Hi all, its been a while since I have been on here, changed computers and lost the link. Just brought a new horse a had to rack my brain to remember the name of the forum. Glad to be back.

I brought a new horse in May and it is not going too well.

He is absolutly gorgeous and I love him to pieces. He is a 5 yrs old welsh section D and was only backed in the winter. I brought him off an aquaintace who brought him just after he had been backed and has totally ruined him to the point that ...

we got a pet rabbit today she's lovely browny grey colour. she has the loppy ears. i dont like touching rabbits or any animals like that but she is ok doesnt flinch when shes touched just sits there.

what would you recomend she has in her huthc, she has straw and shavings food and water. do they need anything else,?

The school just rang where keane will be going!

We are going in on the 9th april for an hour to have a look and a play etc. Then we will be planning his settling in time starting from the 21st april, the day after his 3rd birthday!!!!

I'm nearly crying here, i can't believe it, my little baby going to school!

Farm park

Yesterday i came to work and let paul have most of the day off!

He ended up taking keane to the farm park, i was well upset that i couldn't be there with them, we don't get to spend much time together.

They had a great time seeing all the animals and playing in the playbarn which is a big soft play area with big slides and ball pools etc.

Keane told me he stroked the horsey and saw lots of animals! aww!

Because it was quiet there the staff were really good and got the animals ...

I used to read them all the time but i haven't done for ages, didn't seem much point when i never went near a horse for the last 7 years lol!

New fish

I have recently got two goldfish, and my son has called them Lucy and Loxy. One is all gold and the other is white patched with gold, they were my sons choice and he choose them very well. Have no other pets at the mo, but I am considering about maybe getting a dog one day. Have'nt really been able to get an animal as my son used to be really bad with them, never would leave them alone, but he seems to be a lot calmer around animals now.

I've been thinking, and i don't have alot of time but i could maybe go a couple of times a week in the evenings, paul will have to take me and look after keane and he says its ok so

I decided to offer my help at the horse sanctuary which isn't far from here, so i went on their website to get their number and found that the horse sanctuary has closed down DAMN IT!! I had such plans for the place to help them raise money etc, and its too late!!! So was very upset about that.

Sorry its late but i haven't been able to get on.

First i broke my laptop by spilling pepsi on it

Then i woke up at 4am on christmas morning with terrible stomach pains which lasted all day yesterday and had awful diahrea, i thought i was better this morning but i had something to eat and now my tummy hurts again

We didn't even have a christmas dinner or anything, we were meant to be having guests too, i felt so bad. So we are having it today instead, just hope i feel ok.

They started on saturday but he still seems to be getting new ones.

He should have been at nursery today but they didn't want him to go so i had to stay home with him, hes driven me totally mad!

Tomorrow he has a christmas party but again he can't go! Gutted! I rang up and said he had chicken pox and they said no don't bring him

And then on thursday i have a christmas party but i am still going to that cos my mum is gonna have keane!

I hope hes better by friday cos ...

Christmas play

It's my son's christmas play today. He's going to be playing as Rudolph. The teacher told me he was picked as he had one of the loudest voices in the class, but she asked me to ask him to shout out the words as he's quiet on stage. Hope all goes well. I'll post some pics later on.

My son got up this morning and had bad diahrea and was sick. I phoned the school up this morning to tell them he's not coming in today, and now it's 11am and he's back to normal. He seems to have more energy than yesterday, a real pain. I'm kinda wishing he was at school.

If you show your horses, do you plait their manes and tails?

We dont plait the cobs because their sposed to be shown in their natural state. But when i was working at racing stables i used to take the thoroughbreds to the races all the time and however much i try i have always been crap at plaiting manes, and tails; i dont even know where to start!

Hows ur plaiting and do u have any special tips to help me out?

I can plait a womens hair fine. And manes i can do but not to a brilliant standard. ...

My son is starting his riding lessons on saturday and I don't know who is morer excited me or him lol. He has had loads of fun on my horse (my shetland is to small for him he says at 4 year old ) and loves going for a slow trot n her.

This was fab when my mare sprained her hock. It is a bandage which is soacked in a cooling solution to cool swelling. It was so much easier to use that hoses or ice packs or any other product we have used on the yard (with over 30 horse young and old it is quite a feet)

We have mice in our tack room that we obviously want rid of but no matter what we do thay keep coming back.

There wasn't a problem until one of the newer liveries started to leave their feed bags etc lying about and just generally leaving it a mess.

Anyway we have sealed the room up blocked of any holes, put our feed into bins left poison down ( not my choice as though they are a nightmare don't like killing thing) it gets swept regular and it's now kept v. tidy, but yesterday my saddle ...

thrush problems

hello, i wonder can anyone help me? With the terrible weather we keep having my shire keeps getting thrush, it was so bad the other week that he had maggots!! wHICH WERE PROMPTLY REMOVED!! Does anyone know of any great products to treat the thrush. He lives out and cannot live in so i cant stop his feet getting wet!!

Its just i used to go to alot when i was younger and even compete in them, but i was always told when they were coming up by the adults lol!

Ive started to do dressage competitions where i go for riding lessons. Its just a bit of fun, but its something ive never tried before so i thoaught id give it a go. I ride a friends horse who i work for a few days a week. He is a partbred appaloosa called Harvey. He is gorgous! But a handful. he was a working stallion two years ago, pulling barges!

So he has had to completely start again. Our first comp we came last coz he wanted to bolt off everywhere. Then we came 5th out of 9 and overall ...

This has been going on for a couple of months now. Its quite worrying. They have not yet been caught and despite everyone knowing about them they keep appearing all over the place:

Irish Tinkers! I keep getting e-mails on updates of there whereabouts. They go round in a transit van inquiring about pressure washers. They call at all horse/livery yards. A few coloured horses have been reported stolen these last few months and they are the suspected thieves. They have been caught snooping round ...

Going off to the beach with my son this weekend before school starts again. Not sue which one yet, was thinkiking of going to Bridlington but apparantly there is a hotel there about to collapse so they have some roads blocked off so not sure where to go now.
